Questions Parents Ask
-
Occupational therapy may be helpful if you’re noticing challenges with your child’s play, feeding, regulation, movement, or participation in everyday routines.
Many families reach out when something feels “off,” even without a diagnosis. You don’t need to wait for concerns to get worse or for formal testing before seeking support.
If you’re unsure, I’m happy to talk through what you’re seeing and help you decide whether OT is the right next step.
-
My current clinical focus is supporting infants, toddlers, and young children during the early years of development.
Occupational therapy may be helpful for concerns related to:
Sensory processing and regulation
Developmental delays
Feeding and early self-feeding skills
Play and engagement
Motor coordination and planning
Fine and visual motor skills
Transitions and daily routines
If you’re unsure whether your child would benefit, I’m happy to talk through what you’re noticing and help you decide if OT is a good fit.

Metta Pediatric Therapy was created to provide thoughtful, individualized care that meets children and families where they are—both developmentally and emotionally.
Services are provided in your child’s natural environment, allowing therapy to become part of everyday routines rather than something that only happens during an appointment. I focus on regulation, connection, and play as the foundation for meaningful participation in daily life, with parents and caregivers as essential partners in the process.
By intentionally maintaining a smaller caseload, I’m able to provide personalized care, consistent communication, and treatment that is guided by your family’s goals—not a one-size-fits-all approach.
-
Private pay allows therapy to be guided by your child’s needs and your family’s goals, rather than insurance requirements.
This gives us flexibility in the frequency and focus of services, allows for more time during evaluations when needed, and supports a truly individualized approach to care. It also creates space for caregiver coaching and collaboration that is responsive to what your family is navigating in daily life.
My goal is to provide care that is thoughtful, relationship-centered, and centered on what matters most to your child and family.

Metta Pediatric Therapy currently operates as a private-pay practice.
A detailed superbill can be provided upon request for families who wish to seek possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to learn more about your specific out-of-network benefits.

Your first visit is designed to help me understand your child as a whole—not just a list of challenges.
We’ll talk through your concerns and goals, review developmental history, and observe your child during play and everyday routines. Formal or informal assessments may be used as needed to better understand your child’s strengths and areas of support.
From there, we’ll develop a plan that is individualized and focused on meaningful participation in daily life.
Ongoing therapy sessions are play-based, engaging, and tailored to your child, while also supporting the skills that matter most to your family.
-
Absolutely. Parents and caregivers are an essential part of the therapy process.
I provide coaching, education, and practical strategies that can be incorporated into everyday routines so you feel confident supporting your child between sessions.
My goal is to not only support your child’s progress during sessions, but also to help you feel equipped to continue that progress in daily life.
-
Progress is measured through a combination of clinical observation, caregiver input, and ongoing review of your child’s participation in everyday routines.
Rather than focusing only on isolated skills, I look at how your child is functioning within meaningful activities such as play, feeding, movement, regulation, and daily routines at home.
We regularly check in on goals together to ensure therapy continues to reflect your child’s growth and your family’s priorities over time.
-
Children learn best in the environments where they live, play, and interact every day.
Providing therapy in your home allows me to observe your child’s natural routines, tailor strategies to your family’s lifestyle, and support skill developmental where it matters most.
